Урок английского языка "Тадж-Махал. Чудеса света"; 5 класс, УМК Spotlight
Тип урока: урок комплексного применения знаний и умений (урок закрепления).
Межпредметные связи: История Древнего мира, МХК.
Цель урока: Систематизировать усвоение лексических навыков по теме «Дома», познакомить учащихся с одним из чудес света.
Задачи урока:
- Образовательные: Развивать навыки ознакомительного и поискового чтения; умений монологической речи;
- Развивающие: Развивать внимание, память, познавательную и творческую активность, языковую догадку,
- Воспитательные: Знакомить с культурой других стран, их достопримечательностями, воспитывать уважительное отношение к культурному наследию разных стран, формировать положительную мотивацию, чувство сотрудничества и умения работать в группе.
Формы работы учащихся: коллективная, групповая.
Оборудование: компьютер, проектор, презентация к уроку, карточки со словами, дидактические карточки с заданиями; картинки с изображением действий, аудиоприложение.
Ход урока
I. Организационный момент
(слайд 1)T: Hello, boys and girls! I’m glad to see you today. Sit down, please. Are you fine? I’m glad because we all will work hard at our lesson today.
Ps: Hello, dear teacher. We are glad to see you too.
II. Фонетическая зарядка
(слайд 1 ) T: Let’s start with phonetics exercises. (T Cl)
[o:] – or, floor, door, wall, all
[æ] – at, flat, has
[ai] – nice, white, bright
Well done. Now we remember our poem about Pussy’s flat.
(слайд 2)
Our Pussy cat has got a nice flat.
It has a yellow door
And a brown floor.
The walls are white,
All the flat is bright!
T: Well done, thank you.

T: Some of you have got the pictures of your “Dream house”. Kate has got a project “My Dream House”. Let`s listen to her.

V. Постановка цели урока
(слайд 3) T:Children, open your textbooks at page 53. Look at the headings and pictures. Can you guess what the theme of our lesson is?
Ps: We will speak about beautiful houses and buildings and read the text about Taj Mahal.
T: You are right. Today we are going on to talk about houses and buildings, the world-famous sights and the materials they were made of. We are going to read the text about Taj Mahal, revise the words on the topic “Homes”, you'll learn how to describe famous houses and buildings.

VII. Прогнозирование.
T: Children, look at the pictures and do the tasks in groups.
The 1st group will write 5 words you expect to find in the text. Write down the words.
The 2nd group will make 3 simple questions.
The 3rd group will make 3 complex questions.
Ps:1st. Building, beautiful, rooms, pools, palace.
2nd. What is the text about? Who built the palace? How many rooms has it got?
3rd.1. Why do people call this building one of the Eight Wonders of the world?- Because it`s beautiful. 2. Describe the main features of the building. They are The dome, 4 minarets.3.What Wonders of the world made of other materials do you know?
VIII. Физкультминутка
T: Now it’s time to have a rest. Let’s remember the poem.

The windows are clean,
and so is the floor!
Outside there’s a chimney,

T: Look at the materials. Listen and repeat.

Ps: It`s made of white marble.
T: Children, read the text and complete the sentences. Write down in your copybooks.
Ex: 2 p.53. Let`s check.
Now look at the pictures on the desks. You can see the other Wonders of the world. Look. Do you know them?
Now, let`s remember our questions. Have we got the answer to all of them? Let`s check.

T: Now let`s make a conclusion to our work. You will do the task.
The 1st group. Think 2 adjectives to the word Taj Mahal.
The 2nd group. Think 2 adjectives to the word building.
The 3rd group Think 2 adjectives to the word house.
Write three verbs which are connected with the 1st word. And make sentence about the text or the lesson. Now Write the synonym to the 1st word. Well, let`s work! Read your variants, please.
T: Dear boys and girls. You were so active today. We almost have forgotten about our apples from the “Hope tree”. Take your apple and see if your hopes come true and put them into the bag. I am sorry, but we must stop here. Our time is up. Well, you worked very well today. Thank you. Did you like our lesson?
T: Now. Your home task. Make a report about famous building in Russia, tell about the material and show the picture of it. You can draw the building yourself. Ex: 5, p.53.
T: Now your marks. I think today you will get only good marks. That’s all for today. Good bye.
