Страдательный залог– это грамматическая структура, при которой в предложении в качестве подлежащего выступает объект действия. Сравните:  1)Many people speak English in Russia. (Active Voice) 2)English is spoken by many people in Russia.(Passive Voice)

Употребление Страдательный залог употребляется в случае, если действующее лицо не важно или неизвестно. Например:  1) 2) 3) This book was written long ago. English is spoken all over the world. The doctor was sent for.

Если действующее лицо всё же упоминается, то используется предлог by. The poem was written by Shakespeare.  Если упоминается предмет, с помощью которого совершается действие, то употребляется предлог with.  The room was decorated with balloons.

Страдательный залог образуется с помощью глагола to be в нужном числе, лице и времени и III формы основного глагола. Aspect/Tens e Simple Present am is are +V3 Past was were +V3 Future will be +V3

1) При помощи глагола «быть»:    The book was given to him a week ago. – Книга была дана ему неделю назад. The door was opened. – Дверь была открыта. The letter will be written. – Письмо будет написано.

2) Глаголом на - ся(-сь):  The house is being built by a new company. – Дом строится новой компанией.  His report was discussed yesterday. – Его доклад обсуждался вчера.

3) Неопределённо-личными предложениями:  His report was discussed yesterday. – Его доклад обсуждали вчера.  The articles have been translated into many languages. – Их статьи переведены на многие языки.

4) Активными конструкциями:  Our talk was interrupted by a telephone call. – Телефонный звонок прервал наш разговор.  The seat has been taken by somebody. – Кто-то занял место.

We will be met by them at the station tomorrow.
