План мероприятия:
Цели мероприятия:
Воспитательные: - создать условия для воспитания уважения и
бережного отношения к традициям и праздникам
своей страны и страны изучаемого языка.
Развивающие: - организовать условия для развития догадки,
любознательности.
Учебные: - создать условия для совершенствования навыков устной и
письменной речи.
Познавательные: - способствовать расширению и систематизации знаний
об истории праздника.
Задачи мероприятия:
- стимулировать учащихся на развитие навыков устной и
письменной речи;
- способствовать повышению интереса к изучению
иностранного языка.
Оснащение мероприятия:
- На уроке используется компьютер и видеопроектор,
подготовленная учителем презентация в программе
PowerPoint, экран, раздаточный материал.
Подготовка к мероприятию:
- в ходе подготовки к данному внеклассному мероприятию
учащиеся изучили историю праздника, а также новую
лексику по теме.
Ход мероприятия:
Teacher:
- Dear children, dear guests, it is lovely to meet you here at St. Valentine’s games. Good morning! First of all, I want to ask you,
-Do you like holidays?
- I like them too.
- What holidays do you know?
-What holyday shall we celebrate in February?
-You are right!
On the 14th of February people celebrate a beautiful holiday, which is loved by adults and children. It is St. Valentine day.
There are a lot of traditions, customs, games and puzzles on this holiday.

Now let's listen to History of Valentine's Day: Ever wonder who St. Valentine was? Or why so many people get all mushy around the second week of February? Here's a brief synopsis:
St. Valentine was actually two people (that weren't romantically involved) who were martyred on the same day. Feasts commemorating them were celebrated on February 14. One was a priest and physician who died in Rome during the persecution of Christians by Claudius II Grothicus. The other was the bishop at Terni, Italy who was also martyred in Rome. Both have been buried at different places along the Flaminian Way.
So why do people send "valentines" or "love tokens" to one another on that day? The origin of that tradition is not thought to have any connection with the saint's day. Rather it comes from an early European belief that the second week of February was when birds began to mate. The idea suggests that lovers should probably exchange notes and gifts on February 14 in conjunction with what nature practiced.
Nowadays, Valentine's Day is observed as a special day for love and romance. This topic is one of the oldest, and probably most-discussed, issues in history!
