Конспект урока английского языка в 6 классе

по теме «Каникулы. Олимпийские игры в Сочи. Развитие общекультурной и этнической идентичности»

Цели урока:

  • обучающие: - активизировать знания об Олимпийских играх в Сочи в устной речи;

- перенос лексико-грамматического материала в ситуацию речевого общения;

  • развивающие: - способствовать развитию умений учащихся обобщать полученные знания, делать необходимые выводы;

- развивать умения высказываться логично, расширить кругозор;

  • воспитательные: - способствовать развитию общекультурной и этнической идентичности как составляющих гражданской идентичности личности;

- прививать учащимся любовь к спорту.

Формирование УУД на уроке:

1. Познавательные УУД:

- совершенствовать умение извлекать необходимую информацию из текста;

- совершенствовать навыки и умения оформления устных высказываний согласно заданию.

2. Регулятивные УУД:

- совершенствовать способность принимать и сохранять учебную задачу урока; планировать и согласовывать свои действия в группе в соответствии с общей задачей.

3. Коммуникативные УУД:

- формировать умение сотрудничать в паре, группе;

- осуществлять взаимопроверку выполненной работы в группе.

4. Личностные УУД:

-развивать умение общаться в группе;

- формировать патриотизм, уважение к истории своего народа, страны, к истории других народов;

- овладевать приемами эффективного речевого общения в ходе обсуждения учебной проблемы в группе и принятия общего решения.



Тип урока: урок комплексного применения знаний и умений 

Форма урока: урок-соревнование

Межпредметные связи: физкультура, география.

Методы работы: игровые, групповые.

Материально-техническое обеспечение: компьютер, тематические карточки “Sport”, раздаточный материал, учебник “Spotlight 6”

Примечание: учащиеся разделены на 3 группы по 4 человека.


Ход урока

  1. Организационный момент (1 минута)

Good afternoon, my friends!

Glad to meet you again! Who is absent today?

2. Речевая разминка (3 минуты)

-So how are you today: optimistic or pessimistic? Why?

- What are you going to do at the weekend? Will you stay at home or will you go…?

3. Постановка цели и задач урока. Мотивация учебной деятельности учащихся. (3 минуты)

Today we`ve got a very interesting and unusual lesson. But what it will be about you should guess by yourselves. Every group has got a few cards with the English letters. Your task is to put the letters in the right order (the first letters are given in bold) and make up the words.

So these words are the names of some sports (FIGURE SKATING, SKI JUMPING, SNOWBOARDING)

How are these sports connected? Are these sports individual or team sports?

What other winter sports do you know? Well done.

But also these sports are connected with one of the biggest events in the world in the Russian Federation. Do you know what I’m speaking about? (Students: Olympic Games)

Yes, you are right. (Слайд 1.) In 2014 our country hosted the Winter Olympic Games in Sochi. Perhaps some of us watched that important international sporting event on TV.

What is the purpose of the lesson?


  1. Актуализация знаний (6 минут)

  • Let`s remember all sports and sport games you know in English and do the task (Слайд 2.) Let`s say and translate the words. Now, teams, your task is to arrange the words for four columns (Слайд 3).

  • Well, our next task is to “Find the odd word”. Read the lines and find the odd word in each line.

1. February, January, June, December

2. Running, swimming, jumping, bobsleighing

3. Football, basketball, handball, hockey

4. Skiing, skating, snowboarding, singing

5. Snowy, windy, rainy, slowly

6. Skating, curling, skeleton, swimming

6.  Первичное закрепление материала (12 минут).

1)    в знакомой ситуации (типовые):

Работа с домашним текстом Spotlight on Russia “Sochi is the resort capital of Russia”

  • What impressed you most about Sochi?

  • Give brief information on Sochi ( 1group – location, 2 group – what famous for, 3 group – activities one can do)


2)  в изменённой ситуации:

As you`ve said Sochi is famous for the Olympic Games in 2014. How do you think, when did the history of the Olympic Games start? It started many years ago. You are right. Look at the screen, please (Слайд 4-8)

- The Olympic Games have a very long history. They began in 777 ВС in Greece and took place every four years for nearly twelve centuries at Olympia.

- They were held on the mountain Olympus. That’s why the games were called the Olympic Games. The ancient Greek Olympics were held every four years in summer. For the period of games all the wars stopped. So the Olympic Games became the symbol of space and friendship.

- The history of the modern Olympics started when in 1894 the French archeologist Pierre de Coubertin revived the Olympic Games. Of course, the First Modern Olympics were held in Greece in Athens in 1896.

-Well, my dear friends! Now let’s speak about our days. Do you know where and when were the last Olympic Games held? (The OG were held in Sochi from 7 to 23 February in 2014) Let's revise some facts about the Olympic symbols.

- What is the motto of the OG in Sochi 2014? Жаркие. Зимние. Твои. – Hot. Cool. Yours.

- And now let’s speak a little about symbols of the Olympics Sochi 2014? We call them «Талисманы» in Russia. That’s In English means “Mascots”. What are Mascots of Sochi 2014?

( The Polar Bear, The Hare and the Leopard.)

-Yes, you are right.


  • You were very attentive so now say “True or False”. Listen to the statements and say which one is true or false. If I’m Wrong you are to correct me.

  1. There are six rings in the Olympic flag.

  2. The winter Olympic Games 2014 were held in Moscow

  3. The motto of the OG means “Faster, Longer, Stronger”.

  4. The first Modern OG were held in America in 1896.

  5. The OG in Sochi were Winter Games.

  6. The Olympic Games 2012 were held in London.

  7. The mascots of Sochi 2014 are Bear, Hare, and Tiger.

  8. Sochi is the river in Russia.

  9. The OG In Sochi were the first games in Russia.


7. Физминутка (1 минута)

8. Творческое применение и добывание знаний в новой ситуации (проблемные задания) (15 минут)


So now it's time to find out which team is the most active, curious and attentive. It`s time for the last task “Presentation of the Olympics Games”

Every group will prepare a report on the OG using all materials and present it to all students. Every member of a team should take part in the presentation.

1 group - The History of the Olympic Games

2 group - Summer and Winter Olympic Games

3 group - Russia at the Olympics

9. Информация о домашнем задании, инструктаж по его выполнению (1 минута)

Report on another holiday resort in Russia (project – individ. task).

Today we’ve refreshed our knowledge of the history of the Olympic Games. I hope you liked the lesson.
