ОТКРЫТЫЙ УРОК В 5 КЛАССЕ ПО ТЕМЕ «SIGHTS OF LONDON»
Цели урока:
образовательная: расширение кругозора учащихся, активизация лексических навыков по данной теме;
развивающая: развитие умения аудировать с целью извлечения конкретной информации, понимания основного содержания видеосюжета, развитие навыков диалогической и монологической речи;
воспитательная: воспитание уважения к культуре страны изучаемого языка;
Необходимые ресурсы, материалы: программа Microsoft PowerPoint, мультимедийный проектор, дидактические материалы.
Источники информации: сайты в Internet, посвященные достопримечательностям Лондона, его истории, учебники английского языка, видеосюжет « Window on Britain»
Ход урока
I. Организационный момент:
Good morning, boys and girls! I am glad to see you. How are you today?
-What date is it today?
-What day is it today?
-What season is it now?
-What is the weather like today?
-Who is absent today ?
If you look at the blackboard, you will see that the topic of our lesson today is "Sights of London". Today I suggest you to travel around the capital of Great Britain. Let us look at the map.( первоначальная работа по карте,называется столица Великобритании) Слайд 2

But before we start our traveling let's pronounce the words which will be necessary for us:

Welcome to London!
Well, as you know London, is the capital of Great Britain. It's a very big city. London is situated on the river Thames. About 9 ml people live in London. It is one of the most beautiful cities in the world. It is also a very old city. London is 2000 years old. London consists of 3 main parts: the City, the West End and the East End. The City is the Heart of London, it's financial and business centre. There are many banks, offices and firms there. The West End is the riches part of London. The main interesting places are situated there. And the East End is a working part of London. Слайд 5
P2: We start our tour from Trafalgar Square. It's the most popular place for people to meet. In the middle of the square there is Nelson's Column, which is 51 m. high. Слайд 6
P3: Now we are coming to Buckingham Palace. It is the most famous place in London. It is the home of the Queen. There are 600 rooms in it. It has an indoor swimming pool and a cinema. Слайд 7
P4: In front of us you can see the Houses of Parliament and Big Ben. The Houses of Parliament is the seat of the British government. Big Ben is one of the most famous clocks in the world. Слайд 8
P5: Look at this Picture!
One of the greatest English churches, St. Paul's Cathedral, is not far from the Tower of London. The Famous English architect Sir Christopher Wren built it in the 17th century after the Great Fire. It took Sir Christopher Wren 35 years. It is a beautiful building with many columns and towers. In one of its towers there is one of the largest bells in the world. Слайд 9
P6: And this a museum. Madame Tussaud's is a wax museum. It is famous all over the world. There are a lot of kings, queens, politicians and stars. You can see famous people from the past and famous people of today. It is very popular – two million people visit it every year. There are about 4 hundred figures in the museum. Слайд 10
P7: Fantastic! And here is the river Thames. London stands on both banks of the river. The Thames is the deepest and most beautiful river in Britain. There are 27 bridges over the Thames and 8 tunnels under it. Слайд 11
P8: And now we are crossing Tower Bridge over the river Thames. It is one of the oldest and most beautiful bridges in London. It is more than 100 years. Слайд 12
P9: Wow! Look. This is St. Jame's Park. It is one of the royal Parks. It is the oldest and the smallest of the royal parks. It is near Buckingham Palace. There is a lake in St. Jame's Park which is famous for its water birds. You can see pelicans and ducks there. People like to rest in this park. Слайд 13
P10: The British Museum. And now you can see the British Museum. It has one of the largest libraries in the world. There are many old books and manuscripts there. Many great people worked in this library. Слайд 14
